Day 6 of 30

Acrylic 12" X 12" painting I titled, "Jilly is cold".

$50

Painted in the following colors:
Titanium White
Unbleached Titanium
Light Portrait Pink
Mars Black
Deep Magenta
Brilliant Blue Purple Colbalt

Now to give the shine to the glasses and the blue area I used Liquitex "Interference" colors.

Interference Blue was  used on the blue areas,
and
Interference Gold was used on the glasses.

Here is how you use interference colors.  First of all, know that you are taking a chance with your finished painting by using them, it's a crap shoot whether it will work or not to your suitability.  For example, I like how the sunglasses came out, but not the blue area.  (Personal opinion, others many like it.)  The colors are so easy to use.  First of all, make sure the paint you are applying it on is dry.   Then apply a thin layer (you can add water but no need to), on top of the dried paint, and wait about 15 minutes to see a finished result.  WALK away from your painting Be surprised at what you see when you come back!  Know that you can paint over it if you don't like the result.  For example, I went out of the reflective area on the sunglasses and onto the frame a bit, but I simply applied more paint once the interference color was dry.

The Interference colors aren't too much more expensive than other colors, bonus being they last a long time, only a little bit goes a long way!
