Day 2 of "30 Paintings in 30 Days"

Great Smoky Mountain Look Out

This is a 6" X 6" oil painting of the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

This is a gallery wrapped canvas which I haven't painted on the sides yet (it will be painted totally in a blackish color to make it appear as if you're seeing it through a window.  Right now, it's wet, but as soon as it dries, it will sell for $30 plus shipping.  Bonus is, no need to frame it!

Colors used:
Permalba White
Titanium White
Sap Green
Alizarin Crimson
Thalo Green
Cerulean Blue
Thalo blue
Burnt Umber
Payne's Gray

Brushes used:
3/4" Angular
1/4" Angular
#4 Round
#00 Round
#10 Flat
Liner

Many of you may ask, "Where did you use the Alizarin Crimson, that's a deep red!"  When you mix Alizarin Crimson and Thalo Green, it makes the best dark green available which looks like dark foliage.  Also, another wonderful combination is Thalo Blue and Burnt Umber for the tree trunk, makes for a dark, dark brown.
